If You Had Your Own Reality Show…

If you had your own reality show, what would it be about? Would you host some sort of challenge, would you help people manage things in their daily lives, are you selling a craft, or would you just have camera’s follow your around all of the time?
I’ve always felt that with the abundance of reality shows out nowadays, I should jump into the mix! What makes a celebrity’s life more exciting than mine? I can party, waste money, and dodge the cameras just as well as they can.
In all actuality, my friends and I lead some pretty hilarious lives. Some of the things that we come up with are comedy gold! Well, they are in our opinions. I could market myself as a dancer trying to make it, and finally be able to travel to all the places that I’ve always wanted to go on the studios dime. I would take the cameras to my auditions, and have them with me on the adventures that I go on with my friends. And my friends are the average group: the loud one, the shy one, the ballers, the athlete, the metro, and the know it all. Throw in some good music, lots of laughs, lots of drama, and you have a show!
What about you? What would your reality show be like?

10 First Date Rules for Guys

Hey guys! This blog post goes out to all of my fellas out there. First dates. They can be kind of nerve wrecking, right? Especially if you’re the nervous type. Well, fear not! I’ve stumbled upon 10 first date rules for guys. In my honest opinion, I agree totally agree with the rules. Now, if I can encourage someone to use these rules when on a first date, then I know that my job will be done.
Here’s a few.
Take charge. We do not want to decide where to go. We will never tell you this, but it is true. Ask us what kind of place and/or food we like; then, pick a place like that. Do not leave it up to us to choose. You are the man. Act like one.
Smile. When we arrive, smile. Maybe you are a tough guy. Maybe you are nervous. Maybe you are paralyzed. Either way, smile. Women are strange, exotic, intuitive creatures, and we respond well to positive reinforcement. Do not glower.
Mind your body language. If your legs are crossed and your hand is over your mouth, we will unconsciously think you are hiding something. If you are sprawled out all over with your legs spread wide and your hands behind your head, we will think you are a slob or generally loose. Sit up straight, lean in closer, and keep your hands where we can see them.
Ask questions. This seems obvious, but it’s surprising how many men don’t do this. You know what women like? Attention. Also, kittens, flowers, and cupcakes. Nothing else. If you seem curious about the woman sitting across from you, she will like it. For sure.

Want to gain some insight into the life of a Police Officer? Well Bartlett County residents will get this chance during a 10-week Citizens Police Academy beginning March 1st.
The course is free, and will be held on Mondays from 6 to 9 pm. It will allow residents to see how officers handle arrests, DUI cases, investigate crimes and deal with emergency calls.
The class is limited to 20 people, preferably residents or business owners. Those interested can pick up an application either at Police Headquarters in the Justice Building at 3730 Appling or the Bartlett Station Municipal Center Precinct at 5868 Stage. Applications are also available online at bartlettpolice.org by clicking on the public information and education link to the left.
I think this is a great event. Especially for those who are interested in the law force. You get to see the real life police work, and not rely on what you see on TV. Why not go down and take a look?
Have you ever dreamed of being a police officer? What is your dream job?

The Soweto Gospel Choir will be singing this Saturday at the Germantown Performing Arts Centre. The show boasts of vibrant spectacle that mixes Western and African gospel traditions. The group regularly collects money to fund a variety of charitable endeavors both abroad and in their native South Africa, including Nkosi’s Haven, an orphanage for children who have lost their parents to AIDS.
The show is at 8 pm on Saturday, tickets start at $25.
This sounds like a pretty interesting show. I’ve always been a fan of all kinds of music, and seeing I have never been to a performance of this caliber, I think I’d like to go. How about you?
