The Mid-South’s largest Earth Day celebration is back! Though Earth Day is officially on April 22nd, the festival is slated for April 25th, beginning at 10 am at Shelby Farms.

There will be live music and entertainment, games, activities for the kids, guided tours and hikes with experts, buffalo talk, an Eco-Art market, a bicycle, and tons more!

Admission is FREE, and they are accepting $2 donations for parking.

There are so many different ways to have fun and be informed while protecting our Mother Earth. So why not come on down to the Down to Earth Festival 2010, and see what all the fuss is about.

Let’s go green!

Reuse, Repeat, Recycle!

I pack a lunch everyday to take with me to work. This being so, I know I must have gone through at least 200 sandwich bags in a 2 week to a months time. Absurd, right?

Well, I’ve stumbled across someone’s site that makes homemade, reusable, sandwich and snack bags. Granted, they’re intended for children, but they’re so convenient! All you do is flip them inside out, chuck them in the washing machine, and air dry. This way, you’ll never run out of sandwich bags and break your wallet and harm the environment by constantly buying more.

My mother reuses the gallon sized plastic bags, but those only last so long.

Do you have any going green tips to share?
